Exactly 1 Year

I have had my braces for 1 year. I got them on Febuary 7, 2010 and its Febuary 7, 2011. Its surprising how time flies! I have an ortho appointment in 2 days hopefully gonna be told when im gonna get my braces off soon.

Another adjustment... but with some difficulty this time :(

ok so today i went into my orho appt and i got an xray first then went in and she tok off my wires and put on brackets on my very back teeth/12 year molars and when she put it on they didnt use that huge thing that holds your mouth open. they used a little platic tab against the inside of my teeth and that pretty much it. but she was pushing down on my lip onto my bracket and made a little cut in my lip. and what made it worse was that i guess im a little alergic to the sealent they use not the cement but the stuff they put on before. but it was on her glove and it got into the cut and my lip puffed up so i had a bump on the lift side of my lip. it is going down now and should hopefully be gone by tommorow. ooooo but guess what??? in my next appt i am getting elastics!!!!!!!! omg thats what ive been waiting for so i am going to be so excited when i get them its gonna be awsome!!!.  but my next appt is is october on i think the 20th or somethin like that. but i am feeling pressure on my molars  right now so im eatin some ramen. but im probably gonna keep postin on here before my appt and be like "im getting elastics soon"!!!! well ima go and il post a picture up later :) braces off end of this year or beggining of next year hopefully :D

my second adjustment

The first adjusment was done when my bottom braces were put on. But today i got them adjusted and that took about 15 minutes there was a lot of tugging involved but it wasnt bad. I now have a power chain and a "heavy duty wire" as the ortho was calling it on the top so i have to go back in 10 weeks instead of my usual 8 weeks.  At the next appointment they are putting brackets onto my second molar (12-13 year old molar) and repostioning any brackets that need to be moved and then they are taking xrays on that appointment also. They are pretty much making sure im on track and my teeth are moving how there supposed to. That apointment will be on August 24 sometime near 8 A.M and it will take 45 minutes. all about wax!

I decided to tell you all about wax. If you are getting braces i sdshould tell you what you need to know. If you have braces you already know. Well wax is probably your best friend when you get braces. For me it was. Wax is literally a piece of wax that comews in a little pack that you just pich off a little piece and stick it to a bracket that is irritating your gums. Sometimes you cant find the bracket that is bothering your mouth and you will need to put it on 3 till you find the right one. The bracket that bothers me the most is my very last top right bracket. It like grabs a hold of my cheek and i have to use my tounge to detach it. It sounds like it hurts a lot but it actually dosent. But now i dont use wax at all because it dosent bother me as much as it used to. I hoped this little blog anwsered any questions you may have if you have any more just comment below and i will anwser. :) p.s i will probably be putting things about about braces not only my adjustments.

I GOT MY BOTTOM BRACES TODAY!!!

so i got my bottom braces like 3 weeks ago but i have really busy so i couldnt post anything. but they put these thigs called build ups on my molars so i dont bite down on my braces because i have an overbite. also i got that one spring taken off of my tooth that i lost a few weeks before i got my braces on. but my teeth hurt a little not a lot because there is hardly anything wrong with my bottom teeth. so thats it my next appointment is on june 15th and i really want to get rubberbands so my overbite is fixed.. :)

my gap closed

i know this is a really bad picture but i just woke up. my gap closed after about a month im really happy because thats what i mostly wanted. i still dont have my bottom braces but im getting them on April 6th. everything has been pretty normal im still eating what i usually ate. im eating gum but mostly just 5 gum. so ill see ya later!!!!!!! p.s. if u have any questions u can ask.

PICTURES

i got a semi descent picture even though i had my braces for five days lol!! i dont notice a lot of change but the gap looks like it closed a lot but it didnt the picture just has really bad quality. my teeth dont really hurt anymore just kinda the 4 front ones tht have the little invisable band around them that are supposed to pull them together.

I GOT MY BRACES!!!!

i got my braces:). i will upload a picture later because the picture i took has really bad quality and its dark. anyway the process didnt take as long as i thought. puting the brackets on only took about 15 minutes but haveing to use that blue light was about and extra 5 minutes. but i picked a dark blue and a kinda lighter blue but i dont like that you cant tell the diffrence.ooo and i only got my top braces im getting my bottoms in 8 weeks. and since i have a gap i have a little clear elastic thing on my 4 front teeth that is under my wire so its really hard to see. so of course they are the ones that are causing the most pain right now. i am pretty sore even though i took ibuprofen. its just a lot of pressure. im kinda scared of tommorow because i have to go to school but everyone says the second-third day is the worst and im already thinking right now hurts. so ill update on that. but other then pain im pretty good. the bracket on my last molar kept catching on to my cheek so i had to put some wax on it. ill see if i can maybe make a video about it. :)

getting my braces today!!!!!!!!!

its 10:00 and im getting my braces today at 1:00. the picture on the right is what my teeth look like without braces.and later when i come back i will post them with braces. i will tell you how they feel and everything and from now till end of my treatment everymonth i will post a picture showing you the progress.

second appointment

today i went in for my second appointment which only took about 15-20 minutes. you usually get spacers but i am not getting the metal bands on the back of my teeth. but i got a mold done which is very cold and gooey and when they take it off it pretty much sucks to your teeth. then i had to get one more x-ray of my bite. and that was all!! the nest time i go in on feb.8 i will be getting my braces :)

the consultation

i went into the orthodotist and i was very nervous and anxious at the same time. i had an idea what to expect but was not sure. i was more comfortable at my orthodontist because my sister had went there for her braces a few years ago so i am pretty familiar with the place.

what happens at the consultation:

1. you sign in and wait
   
2. they call you and take you back to get xrays
3. then after the xrays you take photos of your bite and your teeth in general
   
4. next you go into the othodontists main office
5. you review your xrays and pictures and he/she tells you everything that is wrong
6. then he/she will look in your mouth and read out all these measurements to the assistant and he/she will write them down
7. after he/she shows you all your options that you have and you and your parent will choose what type of braces you want
8. after you choose you and the assistant will go over all the financial options
9. then you schedual your next appointment
10. your done!

my next appointment is for my records so they can put me on a file and also they will make my molds also that day. that day is this coming wensday january 27, 2010 at 7:30 n the morning.
